#teamcanon

My dad and I have been on the hunt for a DSLR at a really good price for a while now; and search was becoming a bit more urgent because my convocation is next month (and my parents want nice photos, instead of the blurry ones that our point-and-shoot always takes).

So, drum roll please... *drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr* We bought one yesterday!

Taken by my 3.0 megapixel cell phone camera.
The Canon EOS Rebel T4i! We got it for a decent price, and it came with an 18-135 mm lens, the camera bag picture above, and a monopod (which... I'm sure will come into good use at some point in my life).

I took it out for a test drive today when we went to the Jays-Orioles game this afternoon. I am not as enthusiastic about baseball as I am about hockey; and I don't know a lot about it except for what I learned from playing in elementary school gym class and Wii Sports. But I went to a Jays vs. Red Sox game a few years ago with my little brother and his second grade class (it my second game ever - I went to my first baseball game when I was 7 or 8), and I found that baseball wasn't as boring as I thought it was. So now, when the opportunity to catch a Jays game becomes available, I'm all for it. I just really like the atmosphere of being at a sports game. (It was part of the reason for why I always wanted to go downtown to watch the Leafs playoff games... sigh.)

Besides, the weather was absolutely amazing!
KAWASAKIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Bautista's batting again!
Sassy Brett Lawrie taking a walk after the pitcher hit him. I don't know if there's a technical term for this...

Shout out to the brave souls who did the CN Tower edge walk.
Here's why this game was awesome though: when we arrived (late, as always), the Orioles were up 2-0. Slowly, the Jays got back up within one, but by the bottom 9th, they were down 5-2. To the people who left the stadium then, SUCKS TO BE THEM because they missed the epic comeback.

BASES LOADED!
RUN RUN RUN! I believe that's Adam Lind running home and Mark DeRosa running to first.
Audience on their feet for potentially the last hit of the game...

If you haven't seen Kawasaki's post-game interview, you should. It is the best.

What was this post about? Oh yeah, the new camera, photos, etc. Upon my first review of all of them, I was a bit disappointed by the image quality - the pictures didn't look spectacular and frankly, some of them looked like they could have been taken by our crappy Sony point-and-shoot on its better days. Then I remembered that I had set it to "medium - 8.0 MP" on the camera because I am currently using a 512 MB SD card... So hopefully after I get an SD card with more space on it, and ramp the image quality back up, my pictures will look better. That, and after I get some reading and practice done!

Cheers!
